A police officer was stabbed outdoors an east London railway station on Friday evening.



British Transport Police (BTP) stated the male officer was approached by a suspect outdoors Ilford station and attacked with a knife.



The officer was taken by ambulance to hospital for therapy for his accidents, which aren’t thought to life-threatening.



A person has been arrested over the incident, BTP stated. It’s understood counter-terrorism police should not concerned at this stage.



Witnesses described seeing the bloodied officer outdoors the station because it was placed on “full lockdown”.



One other tweeted: “At Ilford station… simply come outdoors and all I see is somebody on the ground, blood and police.”



The incident comes amid considerations of a rise in assaults on cops amid an increase in violent crime throughout London.



“Officers are interesting for data after a BTP police officer was stabbed outdoors Ilford Station earlier this night,” a BTP spokesperson stated.



“Round 9.45pm this night a male officer was approached while on responsibility outdoors Ilford Station and was attacked with a knife.



“The London Ambulance Service has taken the officer to hospital, the place he’s being handled for his accidents, which aren’t considered life threatening.”



Following a latest assault on cops in southwest London, the place one feminine officer was “karate kicked” into the trail of an oncoming bus, Metropolitan Police Federation Ken Marsh referred to as for officers to be given better help.



He beforehand warned of a “breakdown in society” after two officers had been attacked as they tried to apprehend a suspect in Hackney.



“There is a component of individuals on the market who simply don’t have any respect by any means and don’t care,” stated Mr Marsh.



“They don’t care about their actions, don’t care how they behave and do not care in regards to the penalties and we’re left to face that twenty-four hours a day seven days per week.”
