The Walking Dead fans were left upset after Rick Grimes (played by Andrew Lincoln) appeared in his final episode of the show.

After weeks of build up, AMC announced the episode would be his last moments on the show – however it was then revealed he would return in some The Walking Dead’s upcoming feature-length films.

Although Rick’s last moments were given a lot of attention, Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan) also saw her last moments.

Despite rumours that she would be losing her life in the episode, she merely disappeared once the episode jumped forward in time.

Lauren’s departure follows her signing up to a brand new comedy show in which she plays one of the lead characters – which could have had something to do with her exit.

The show’s time jump have brought in new cast members and lost a few more, but it looks like she Maggie could be en route to return to the show.

Season ten has already been commissioned, and the show’s showrunner Angela Kang recently spoke out about the possibility of Maggie’s return.

Speaking to Comicbook.com, she revealed: “I’m already working on season ten stuff.

“Yeah, trying to get a little bit of a jump on it, so after I do this round of press calls today I’m actually gonna jump back in with a couple of my senior writers and we’re gonna talk about some stuff.”

She went on to talk about Maggie, saying: “We will hopefully come back to Maggie’s story in Season ten.

“Lauren and I have been texting about some things, and we’re hopefully gonna schedule a conversation.”

Angela went on to say the process doesn’t end for some time, but the air date always stays the same, causing some writing overlaps.

Meanwhile it has also been hinted that Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh) may not appear in the upcoming feature-length films.

Jadis was last seen sending Rick off to a mysterious destination on a helicopter.

And although Jadis joined the patriarch on his journey, it has been revealed she may not have a spot in the movies.

Speaking to TV Guide she explained: “They want to shoot next year, so if I don’t hear by Christmas I’ll know that I’m not doing it, won’t I?”

Jadis could still be involved but her plot points may not have been written in yet, Pollyanna added.

She continued: “They take their time to make it the best they can be, and they’ve got that time, so why wouldn’t they use it?”

If Jadis were to continue alongside Rick, it is unclear whether they would remain friends, or become enemies.

If they maintained their friendship, would she help him get back to his daughter?

The Walking Dead season nine continues next Sunday on AMC and tonight at 9pm on FOX in the UK. Seasons 1-8 are available to stream on NOW TV.
